Coors Light came out with this ad to show off the new cold activated labels on cans and bottles. Previous advertising showed that Coors was frost brewed and they took it one step farther by emphasizing the importance of an ice cold beer, the mountains turn blue when it is the proper temperature of drinking. This ad is mainly aimed towards males since it has the tagline of “bore your girlfriend”. Coors has always targeted itself as a masculine beer.

Coors Light created this ad to coincide with the label of their beer bottle. When the beer is chilled, the mountains on the label change from silver to blue to show that the beer is icy cold and refreshing. These cold activated bottles may seem like a gimmick but something as simple as showing when the beer is cold enough to drink is a clever way of marketing.

1994 Miller Lite Ice Beer Ad - If You Get it, Get It

The above poster is a 1994 ad of Miller Lite Ice.  Its powerful slogan ” If you get it, get it” sounds extremely manly and demanding . The idea of beer being a manly drink will also appear in our Blue Moon promotion and advertisement because most beer brands share the same target audience. However, we are going to use a new and exciting method to inprint the manly imagine on our product. What worked for me in this ad is the color that they have choosen. The mixture of black and blue give viewers a sense of mystery. It will attract possible consumers to try it out.
